Ethics and the Environment

Okoru is dedicated to operating in a manner that protects the environment and will strive to actively prevent pollution of all sorts whilst minimising resource consumption.

 

The following measures will be taken to address our impacts:

• All supplies and contractors will be sourced locally where appropriate.
• Waste levels will be minimised by selecting products with minimal packaging.
• All materials will be reused or recycled wherever possible.
• Use of electricity generated will be minimised through diligent consumption.
• The use of hazardous materials will be reduced and those that are necessary will be processed appropriately.
• Ink and solvent use will be minimised.
• Staff will be trained and educated on issues of reducing energy consumption, recycling and handling of hazardous substances.
• Transport impact will be reduced by encouraging staff to use public transport where appropriate. Air travel will be used only when absolutely necessary.

 

We are committed to complying with all applicable legal requirements. One of our underlying principles is that effective communication is vital to the success of this policy and interactive stakeholder and employee involvement will therefore be actively encouraged. This policy will be made available to all staff, clients, subcontractors, suppliers and the public via our website. Engagement with, and comments on, this policy will be considered a vital part of its development, and policy reviews will occur regularly to incorporate new and progressive ideas and aims.
