2009-10 Update

So……. We’ve been very busy at Okoru, so much so that we’ve neglected our website for the last few weeks. Here’s a little update on what’s been happening during the second half of December and so far in the new year…

Varsity trip – Running the entire musical production of the trip went off without a hitch. We took out a crew of 21 including artists, photographers, videographers, stage builders, sound engineers, lighting designers to professionally manage and capture the entire event. Kissy, Pendulum and Chase + Status smashed it alongside our resident DJs and the Urban Knights to a crowd of around 3,000 ravers in a purpose built tent in Tignes. Whilst in Tignes we played a number of gigs at venues throughout Tignes Le Lac and Val Claret at Loop Bar, Couloir Bar and Melting Pot nightclub. One night Gareth from Pendulum decided to join us for a 200 person intimate gig at Melting which went down a storm with Varsity punters, tourists and seasonnaires alike! Off The Piste + Wastelands – Parties on the Piste

We rocked a -22 degree party in Les Deux Alpes for Wastelands Ski and a -10 degree party in Val D’Isere for Off the Piste tour operators. The cold didn’t stop the raving though, we supported a freestyle competition at both events with Fat beats and basslines and took the partying into the evening for the participants of Loughborough, Manchester, Leeds and Birmingham uni ski trips.

Snowbombing Tour De Dance 2010!

After much up and down’s with various sponsors we have a headline sponsor for our tour of the alps, Snowbombing Festival! The ‘Snowbombing Tour De Dance’ kicked off yesterday with a return to Tignes, Loop Bar and Couloir as the venues of choice. Watch this space for updates…
